Real-Life 2.0
Oh my gawd, the most eagerly anticipated game of 2008! It's a first-person-shooter by Mockstar Games called Real-Life 2.0! Mockstar promises this game to be so close to real life that it would be, as the name implies, real life version 2.0.

Real Life 2.0 box art

Essentially the main premise of the game is that there is no main premise! This game is completely open-ended!

However, this does not make the game stale with no clear objectives for the player to follow. The programmers are a bunch of fucking geniuses who managed to program and adaptable in-game world AI that adapts to the player's actions - meaning each mission or objective thrown at the player is a response to what the player has done previously.

Such a system translates to endless replay value. No two games of Real-Life 2.0 played will be exactly the same. How freaking cool is that?

Oh and don't get me started on the graphics. I had a look at some screenshots - each scene is rendered so realistically I'd bet you wonder if you were practically seeing things in the real world instead of playing a computer game.

Ah but the hardware requirements are really killer. Enough talking on my part...

Real Life 2.0 graphics
Look at the fine details on everything!! You can practically read the small print on each and every one of the products on the shelves! If you notice, in all the screenshots the lighting is always done perfectly - it is neither hyper-realistic or blocky unrealistic crap.

Real Life 2.0 weapons
Unlike most other FPS that limit you to at the very most a few hundred different weapons, Real-Life 2.0 claims to have available to the player over 100,000 different and distinct weapons!! That's a heck of a lot of ways to dish out punishment!

Real Life 2.0 game engine weapons
However if you STILL feel you need a bigger variety of ways to kill a person, the game engine has a unique system that allows you to combine practically almost any item together to produce more leathal equipment. That accounts for an infinite number of ways to dispatch your opponents!!

Real Life 2.0 items
Speaking of items, almost all items available in the game can be interacted with. Mockstar claims there is over 100,000,000 unique items that can be used in some way. Now this is really taking the level of player immersion to a whole deeper depth!!

Real Life 2.0 enemies
In regards to opponents and antagonists, Real-Life 2.0 again provides an unmatched level of variety. Players will encounter among others violent drivers, street gangsters, mercenaries, marine commandoes and even ... crazy shih-tzu attack dogs.

Real Life 2.0 enemy AI
On dealing with enemies, Real-Life 2.0 provides an open ended approach to this. Depending on the circumstances, the player may choose to use peaceful methods such as negotiating, cutting deals and bribing or...

Real Life 2.0 dealing with enemies
...failing which the stand run-and-gun-chock-full-of-violence approach of most FPS.

Real Life 2.0 civilians
Of course not all non-playable characters (NPC) are opponents. The game boasts a mind-blowing 6,000,000,000 different NPC's to interact with!!

Real Life 2.0 leveling up
When not dispatching enemies, players can and should be increasing their character's stats. Almost everything you do in the game counts towards character stats; including what you eat, how much you sleep, how much you move about, how much interaction with other people you get etc etc. It is also well balanced in that your skills get better the more you use them, unlike standard role playing games where you have to kill a senseless number of monsters to increase a skill stat.

Real Life 2.0 driving
One such skill to learn within the game is driving. This is an important skill as according to Mockstar there are over 300,000 different types of land vehicles to comandeer. If you were to count air and sea vessels the figure goes up to a whopping 500,000 different vehicles to cruise around in!

When not working on stats and skills or doing missions, players may explore Real-Life 2.0's expansive game map. And expansive it is at about 510,000,000km². One can possibly play Real-Life 2.0 for over a decade and still not have explored every single area on the map! It is mind boggling how the game designers managed to code the entire thing in 0__o

Real-Life 2.0 will certainly change how games are made and played for ever more. With such eye-popping realistic graphics and such a level of immersive gameplay, this definitely a game not to be missed in 2008!!

Disclaimer: First person shooter games are not for mentally immature people who cannot differentiate between the real world and virtual reality. This is as such people are likely to pick up weapons and go on a shooting spree in the real world. It is of penultimate importance to ensure that those who have impressionable minds or are mentally unstable be not allowed to peruse any form of electronic entertainment within the genre. Thus, if you have not been able to tell that all the above "screenshots" are fake, please go fuck yourself with a toilet brush and never, ever touch a violent video game for the sake of humanity!!
